Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 is now available for download. The new version has some privacy features that might come in handy.
The new InPrivate mode helps keep your private information from being stored in the browser. That includes history, temporary files, form data, cookies, and login info. This feature is a bit fuzzy in terms of how it'll work. It's meant to help prevent tracking, so if one site serves up content from another site (for example, advertising pulled from some other domain) then that third-party content might be blocked.
The way I understand it, this feature works in a sort of learning mode that will start blocking content after a certain threshold is reached, where the threshold is the frequency in which content appears across the sites you visit. It'll be interesting to see how that affects the overall experience of using a given site.
Also, when deleting browsing history you can opt to retain cookies and temporary files. Of course that runs counter to private browsing so keep that in mind when deleting history.
